Passports

Which situation are you in?

Each situation has its own form and its own steps. We help you find yours.

  • First passport

Applying for the first time, or your last passport was issued when you were under 16.

  • Renewal

Your last passport is undamaged and you may be able to renew by mail.

  • Child under 16

Both parents or guardians usually need to take part in the application.

  • Lost passport

Report the loss and apply for a replacement.

  • Stolen passport

Report the theft and apply for a replacement.

  • Damaged passport

Water, tears or missing pages usually mean a new application.

  • Name change

Your name changed after marriage, divorce or a court order.

  • Second passport

Some travelers may hold a second valid passport, for example for frequent travel or visa processing.

  • Passport card

A wallet-size card for land and sea travel to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. Not valid for international flights.

What we do, and what we don't

No fine print. This is the deal.

We do

  • Help you find the right situation and form
  • Fill in the official forms from your answers
  • Have a person check every page before delivery
  • Give you a step-by-step plan to sign, pay and submit
  • Show our price and the government fees separately

We don't

  • Act as or for any government agency
  • Submit your application for you
  • Give legal advice
  • Ask for your Social Security number
  • Collect government fees: you pay them directly

How it works

Four honest steps

  1. Answer plain questions

Tell us your situation in a few minutes, on any device. No legal jargon.

  2. A person checks it

Our team reviews your answers and the filled-in forms before anything is delivered.

  3. Get your package

You receive the forms ready to sign, plus a checklist of photos, documents and fees.

  4. You submit it

You sign, pay the government directly and mail or hand in your application. We never file it for you.

Questions people ask

Is Passmere a government agency?

No. Passmere is a private company. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or any government agency. You can always apply directly with the government on your own, without paying for our service.

Do you submit my application?

No. We prepare and check your paperwork; you sign it and submit it yourself, by mail or in person, as the official instructions require.

Are government fees included in your price?

No. Government fees are paid directly to the government, separately. We will always show our price and the government fees apart, before you pay anything.

Will you ask for my Social Security number?

No. The form asks for it, and you write it in yourself before signing. We never collect it.
